Microsoft Senior support Engineer Job Description
Experience in automation (shell scripting using vbscipt, powershell, batch ,PERL etc.)
Good configuration knowledge of basic services like AD, DHCP, DNS, sql server etc.
Knowledge of at least deploying and monitoring at least one monitoring software like Nagios/Cacti/Splunk etc.
Good understanding of Network/Infrastructure Architecture design. Good understanding of supporting Windows on Desktop environments.
Microsoft Senior support Engineer Job responsible for:
Owning, architecting and managing MS End user computing, enterprise computing and RnD environments including Installation and configuration of new servers
Automation of deployment procedures for servers and desktops.
Monitoring and management of servers and desktops.
Securing and hardening Windows devices as per internal ITSEC Policies.
Supporting Helpdesk team as escalation point for Windows related problems.
Integration of Windows environment with other internal heterogeneous environments including but not limited to network and Windows environments (hp/cisco environments).
Tracking and resolving vulnerabilities within the infrastructure and architecture.
SOP creation and deployment towards helpdesk team for better support.
Documentation of all environments.
BCP/DR planning for all environments managed by yourself.
24×7 on-call support for all environments as and when required.
Implementation of EMS software as per requirement.
Training relevant stakeholders as required by management/leadership.
Participating in respective projects as required by management.
Other activities as required by management. ● Driving IT Tickets to closure by collaborating with helpdesk Team and users.
